Why Should You Convert to a Solar Energy System?
What You Need To Know Before You Make The Switch to Solar
Denver, Colorado is a prime location for full roof sun exposure.
Delta M inverters produce efficient residential energy and are more accessible than ever.
What you need to know about Solar Energy:
What are Photovoltaic Cell (Solar Cells) ?
The sun is a source of energy. It’s a great source, too—it never runs out and it’s free! But how do you harness that energy?
The answer is PV cells. When light shines on a photovoltaic (PV) cell – also called a solar cell – that light may be reflected, absorbed, or pass right through the cell. The PV cell is composed of semiconductor material; the “semi” means that it can conduct electricity better than an insulator but not as well as a good conductor like a metal. There are several different semiconductor materials used in PV cells.
When the semiconductor is exposed to light, it absorbs the light’s energy and transfers it to negatively charged particles in the material called electrons. This extra energy allows the electrons to flow through the material as an electrical current. This current is extracted through conductive metal contacts – the grid-like lines on a solar cells – and can then be used to power your home.
Is Solar Energy Cost Efficient?
You’re a smart, savvy person. You know that solar energy is the future, and you want in on it.
But you also know that installing solar panels on your roof isn’t always an easy decision. Expenses can add up quick—and what if they don’t pay off?
Well, we’ve got your back: RoofTec Solar can produce electricity at a lower cost than your utility company. The more you produce and use your own electricity, the less you purchase. Over time, your solar energy roofing system may even pay for itself AND your new roof, via monthly electric bill savings and government incentives.
Currently, there’s a 30% Tax Credit available.
You may also get credit for solar energy you send back to the grid when your panels produce more power than your home uses. This could further increase your monthly savings. Of course, savings will vary and are not guaranteed. Incentives and eligibility requirements vary and availability is not guaranteed. It’s important to speak to a financial advisor before making investment decisions.
